Kim K definitely popularized the oversized sweatshirt/t-shirt trend we've seen this last year, but the rise of the "corset belt" has upped this look to be more sophisticated, cinch the waist, and adds personality. Think it started from the abundance of ads for waist trainers the Kar-Jenners did?

Here are some of my favorite corset belts for different styles, along with my favorite ways to wear them.

Denim:
These go great with the denim on denim trend that's still going strong, and adds a grunge vibe I love as well.

Asos // $29

BooHoo // $26

Metal:
Are metals ever not in? Ok so technically it's not a "corset" belt, but it's similar in the look that it gives. I love these with black or dresses for night time.

BooHoo // $10

Thin:
I really like these because they're much more wearable, and are great if you want to get into the trend but aren't sure where to start. Thinner sized belts can be paired with jeans to dress it down even more.

NY&Co. // $15

Dolls Kill // $15

Embellished:
I love these especially because they are so cute and add something different to your look when everyone is wearing similar pieces. Try studs, embroidery, different textures, whatever you like!

Nasty Gal // $24

Pretty Little Thing // $21

Have you tried the corset trend? Or is it still too out there for you to adopt... xo Sam

Can you smell that? It's the crisp air of fall coming upon us. Although pools and bikinis are nice, I'm ready to trade them in for boots and sweaters...and boyfriend jeans! What are they? They're a trend that started in the spring but slowed down when people stopped wearing jeans in summer, but with the cool of fall I really see them becoming huge. They're great for fall, especially since the most popular styles are cropped and have rips.

I love how these can be dressed up or down so rather than break it down to the different styles as I usually do, I'm going to give you ways to dress these up or down!

To class - Stay simple with an oversized shirt or sweatshirt and keep it to sandals or sneakers, booties and wedges will be much too dressy for class.

It seems like all anyone is talking about now is the huge influx in denim, and with this rise in denim styles and looks, are we going to see the return of the denim mini? Earlier this year Rihanna was spotted wearing one that was not exactly her most bangin look (the blue tone, no print or rips, with frayed ends...can you hear my cringing?) and just a few weeks ago, Kendall Jenner was wearing one that was a bit more bearable on the eye (except maybe not from behind, that high hemline!). But is this really a super underground trend that we can see coming up in the fall with boots and leggings?

My forecast? No. There's already so much going on with denim, denim on denim, all colors of denim, flared, ripped, boot cut, skinny denim-- there's no room for anything else. I also think it's too soon for the denim mini to return, last I remember wearing one it was from American Eagle and I had a purple streak in my hair to commemorate Avril Lavigne. I believe I paired it with a poncho and on off days I'd opt for gaucho pants, sigh, I'm not ready for 2008 to come back just yet.

Instead of the denim mini, I could see a small spike in the trend of denim skirts. There's already a trend of exuding class and luxury, and I think this much better corresponds with the fall trends than a mini. Overall though I do think it will be just a small spike, you'll see  a lot of people wearing it for a couple of months then it will be gone with the cold of winter. Had this idea of a trend started last spring, maybe it would be hot, but I have a feeling by next spring we'll all be sick of this denim craze. So if you have a long denim skirt, go for it I say, but don't bother going out and buying one.

If Britney and Justin in 2001 isn't the first thing that goes into your head when you hear 'denim on denim' you're really missing out.
