Fashion Evolution - Rihanna
January 02, 2014Coming from her tomboy roots with the release of "Pon de Replay" in '05, Rihanna sure has made her way into the spotlight of Hollywood. This pic of Ri in 2005 captures the essence of just about every hip-hop artist hitting the scene; crop tops and baggy jeans were the way to go, as seen on other icons like Christina Aguilera and Britney Spears.
As Rihanna was making more and more hits in music, she was also making hits in fashion. As her 2007 album Good Girl: Gone Bad was making headlines, her sense of style was not "going bad". She began wearing, may I say, classier pieces, though still had her edgy side every step of the way.
Recently, Rihanna's instagram (under the name "badgalriri") has been highlighting her much more mature and elegant style. Even with over 2000 pictures, it's hard to find one where the pop star doesn't look fabulous. This picture of Rihanna on new years gives the perfect example. She pulls off a mature edgy look with colorblocking black and white pieces and standing out with a sharp blazer.
Rihanna continues to amaze in dazzling sequined dresses with deep V-necks. Can't wait to see what she has in store for the upcoming Grammy Awards.
